We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4
When we receive Christ’s Spirit (Holy Spirit), we are not simply given a better set of rules to follow. We are called into a new way of living.
Romans 6:4 teaches that just as Christ was raised from the dead, we also are to walk in newness of life.
That new life should influence our attitudes, choices, relationships, and priorities. We may still face old temptations and familiar struggles, but those things no longer have to determine the direction of our lives.
Spiritual growth happens as we learn to live according to the new life Christ has given us.
Today’s encouragement: Don’t allow yesterday’s habits to determine today’s decisions. Walk in the newness of life Christ provides.
